Electrical Planning

Planning an Electrical Project Before You Request an Estimate

Bring your goals, equipment information and property details together before discussing an electrical installation or upgrade.

Helpful Information

A Useful Starting Point for Your Request.

Begin with the Outcome You Want

A clear electrical-project request starts with the intended outcome. You may be planning charging equipment, a lighting change, a panel project or generator-related wiring. Explain what you want to use or improve before assuming which components the work will require.

If the request concerns an existing fault, describe it separately from the planned installation. Repair and troubleshooting are different needs from adding equipment, even when both relate to the same property.

Identify the Property and Project Stage

Tell the team whether the work is for a home, business or industrial facility. Explain whether you are gathering information, have selected equipment or are coordinating a larger project already in progress.

The project stage matters to the discussion. An early inquiry may have open questions about placement or equipment. An established project may already have drawings, product information and a person coordinating access.

Bring Equipment Information You Already Have

Share manufacturer and model information, drawings or existing documentation when available. For EV charging, the vehicle and charger information can help frame the request. For generator wiring, explain the generator and the connection or transfer-switch work you want to discuss.

Use information you already have. Do not open electrical equipment to collect details for an inquiry. The purpose is to explain the project clearly, not to investigate the electrical system yourself.

Keep Placement and Intended Use Clear

Describe the intended equipment location and how it will be used. A charging installation, an outdoor-lighting change and a facility project each have different goals. Explain the space and intended outcome rather than asking for an unspecified upgrade.

For a lighting project, identify the areas you want to illuminate and any existing fixtures you want to discuss. For equipment installation, identify the proposed location and whether a decision about placement is still open.

Separate the Parts of a Larger Request

A project can involve more than one service. Charging equipment may prompt questions about electrical capacity. A generator connection may include transfer-switch work. A facility project may have repair needs and planned additions.

List the parts you want discussed without assuming that every possible upgrade is required. Freedom’s service pages separate electrical repair, panel work, EV-charger installation, generator wiring, dock inspections, commercial work and outdoor additions.

Include Access and Coordination Details

Identify the responsible property contact and any access or scheduling coordination you already know about. For a business or industrial facility, explain who can provide project information and discuss the affected system.

If several people are involved, clarify who is responsible for the request. You can put known coordination needs in the Description field without needing to finalize the whole project before contacting the team.

Request the Service That Matches the Goal

Freedom’s electrical division serves the same 18 North Georgia communities listed in its electrical coverage directory. Choose Electrical on the contact form, add the property information and describe the project or concern.

Call 770-977-9300 to discuss electrical service scope and availability. The next conversation should be about the actual property, equipment and work you want considered. A general service page is not a project-specific estimate or promise of completion timing.
